A little girl finds a torn whale kite washed onto a windy shore. She repairs it in a tiny cliff house with thread, paper, and lantern light. She runs across cliffs at sunrise trying to launch it. The kite catches a huge gust and becomes almost alive in the sky. It pulls her through a field of tall grass and above sea cliffs. The whale kite sails into a golden sky as birds join it.
